BLAME The Movie

I’m very excited I can finally announce a project I worked on last summer: It’s an independent feature film called BLAME- you can read more about it here. The story is set at in the turbulent world of adolescence When a high school outcast becomes entangled in a questionable relationship with her drama teacher, it strikes a nerve in her jealous classmate, bringing about a series of devastating changes in the lives of her peers. There's more pics and info at the film's Tumblr. BLAME QS, CM, NA

It was a lot of work, but we had a great crew and a phenomenal cast, including Chris Messina (The Mindy Project) and Tate Donovan (Masters of Sex.) The film was directed by Quinn Shephard, who you might have seen as a hostage on Hostages or a person of interest on Person of Interest, among other roles. This is her first feature, which is just incredible. I was the first assistant director, in charge of the scheduling and making sure we got through what we needed to each day.

Even though the shoot was just a few weeks, there’s a whirlwind of memories running through my head: using a home-built rain boom to create rain when we needed it, making friends with the very nice police officer who wanted to know why we had a giant camera pointed out the back of our car, and an impromptu drum circle in the band room of the high school we were shooting in.[ref]There’s a video of that one floating around somewhere…[/ref]

I’ve seen some of the footage, and I’m really happy with how it turned out and proud of all the hard work everyone contributed. The film is in post-production right now, and I’ll have more updates as the film comes together!
